Cycling, mountain biking and hiking in Alta Valsugana

Casa Nausicaa, in Costasavina, is a quiet base for days on two wheels or on foot in Alta Valsugana. From the apartment you reach Pergine, Lake Caldonazzo, Lake Levico and the valley cycle path in a few minutes by car, then come back to an independent home in the evening.

The main paved route is the Valsugana cycle path: about 80 km, mostly flat, from Valcanover (Pergine, on Lake Caldonazzo) towards Calceranica, Caldonazzo, Levico Terme and then along the Brenta. For mountain bike there is more than tarmac. Under Pergine Castle, in Parco dei Tre Castagni, the Castel Perzen Bike Park has jumps, berms and rock garden, also used for XC races. Higher up: the Strada dei Baiti towards Vetriolo, loops around the lakes, and longer rides to Marzola, Valle dei Mocheni and the Lagorai (Dolomiti Lagorai circuit). For hiking the SAT white-red waymarks cover the valley. Nearby: Costasavina Park, the Castel Pergine loop, and the walk from Pergine to the castle, Ischia, Lake Levico and Levico Terme (about 11 km). Further out: the Levico lake circuit, lakeside walks at Calceranica and Caldonazzo, and climbs to Panarotta, Pizzo di Levico and Monte Cimone.
